Prior authorization (PA)
An approval we give you or your doctor before the prescription can be covered. For safety, effectiveness, and cost control we work with your health plan to review why you’re taking medication before it may be covered. Check your prescription drug list to see if one of your medications is affected.
Prescription Drug List
A list of medication covered by your plan. If a medication is not listed on your plan’s prescription drug list, check back to see if it has been added. Prescription drug lists are updated frequently.

A group of pharmacies that offer the best medication prices for your plan.
Maintenance medication
A maintenance medication, also known as a long-term medication, is a prescription drug you take for an ongoing health condition.
Generic drug
A generic drug can cost less than a brand-name drug. Generic medications must contain the same active ingredients as the brand-name version. According to The Food and Drug Administration, generics are just as safe and effective. Generics are copies of brand-name drugs. They have been tested and they work the same way brand name drugs work, but they often cost less.
